9:30 – 3:30 Wednesday March 4, 11, and 18
Facilitated by Maryam Ashraf, Eleanore Ablan-Owen, Elle Parks, and Jaye Starr.
This workshop offers a variety of tools to help equip your congregation to do the self and group work foundation building for engaging with nonviolence. We begin with practicing listening and affirmation and advance to communication and cooperation, along the way we take a look at what violence is, where it comes from, and healing ways to strip it of its power over us and we will explore what it means to move from simply being not violent to tapping into the transformative power of nonviolence. This interactive workshop includes small and large group discussions, journaling, reflective art, games, and a multitude of activities you’ll be able to take back to your congregation. Coinciding with Lent and Ramadan, others have found this workshop a spiritually nourishing experience and we hope it can be for you as well. Please note that because the material builds on itself participants must join at the begin and may not be able to return if they miss a portion. Register here. Free to participate, donations to cover snacks and materials will be gratefully received.
* If you have lay leaders you would like to send we will also welcome them
